About the Plantywoo Family
Karma is a Houseplant and Orchid Hobbyist and zone 4-6 garden permaculturist. With over 20 years hobby growing experience in multiple growing zones, with a basis in education for sustainable horticulture, and about 10 years professional experience in horticulture and landscaping, she is knowledgeable and understanding of different growing conditions, care cultures, and techniques.
As a youth Karma experienced homelessness first-hand in ~2008 and decided she wanted better for herself, and so she set out working in the automotive industry to pay for housing before going to college and completing an AA in 2015-2017, during which time she met her now husband Eric, she was just starting out doing landscaping, cosmetic renovating, home decor and design on the side - while working full time caregiving for her mother.
Karma and Eric were married in May of 2018, around the same time she was just starting her BA at Washington State University, and they welcomed twin baby girls Kirby and Franky in 2020. After years of working in the Shoreline and Seattle area repairing, upgrading, designing and landscaping run down apartments, rentals, and million dollar homes alike, while caring for her mother, and studying, Karma and her family decided they needed enough space to grow and relocated to Metaline Falls in the beginning of 2021.
It was all worth it to spend they're girls second summer in their own garden together installing hand processed ceder fence posts, and raised beds with her husband, and perennial fruits and vegetables with the twins. The houses walls are covered in greenery and orchids of all kinds in amongst a lifetime of art collected between Karma and Eric, the twins are growing bigger, and so is the homestead - with big plans to expand into a small orchard this year, as well as adding fruit and vegetables starts for local pickup/delivery.
Karma is also currently a BA student of Anthropology - transferring to a MS in Forensic Medicine soon, so she brings a keen understanding of the importance plants and gifts play in fostering healthy environments, healthy lives, learning opportunities, creating connections, and celebrating key moments in life with the ones we love. It is that knowledge that led to launching Plantywoo this year in the very beginning of 2022.
As a small business entrepreneur she brings all of these experiences and expertise to the table to provide you with excellent opportunities to grow, literally and metaphorically.
